Bluepoint Fish Club to Open at

THE VILLAGE AT SANDHILL

COLUMBIA (February 15, 2006) - Bluepoint Fish Club, a contemporary seafood kitchen and bar, opens Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at South Carolina's newest lifestyle venue, The Village at Sandhill. Bluepoint features fresh seafood, prime steaks and raw bar specialties alongside handcrafted martinis and an exceptional wine list in a clubby atmosphere.

The chef is Kevin Hincks, who's worked at some of Chicago's most prestigious dining destinations under renowned chefs Jacky Pluton (Narra, Pluton) and Sandro Gamba (NoMi). At Bluepoint, chef Hincks creates a well-rounded contemporary American menu that has something for everyone. Start off with one of Bluepoint's signature martinis and a freshly shucked selection of Oysters on the Half Shell (MKT) or chilled Shrimp Cocktail, served the traditional way with cocktail and horseradish sauces ($11.95). If you're in a warm and fuzzy mood, hot appetizers include choices like Coconut Shrimp with mango-pineapple salsa and Spinach, Artichoke & Crab Dip served with tortilla chips ($10.95).

Fresh Fish is what it's all about at Bluepoint... Simply Grilled Mahi Mahi is "simply to-die-for" and is topped with chipotle butter and served with broccoli ($15.95), or try Sesame-Crusted Tuna, served with spinach, mushrooms and ginger soy butter sauce ($18.95). A unique selection of Seafood Creations includes the savory Seafood Boil, a New England style creation of steamed shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn-on-the-cob and new potatoes in a garlic butter broth ($22.95) and rich Seafood "Mac & Cheese," shrimp and lobster tossed with spiral pasta and a decadent mascarpone cream sauce spiked with Creole spices ($22.95).

For you carnivorous types, order from Bluepoint's selection of Steaks, Shellfish and Chicken. Cuts of USDA prime steaks include Petite Filet ($23.95), New York Strip ($25.95) and Flat Iron Steak ($19.95).  All steaks are perfectly broiled to the temperature of your choice and are served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Of course, all of Bluepoint's turf can surf! Add a Lobster Tail ($22.95), Grilled Shrimp ($8.95) or King Crab Legs (MKT) to any of the above for the ultimate Bluepoint Fish Club experience. Want to go for "the goods?" Then order one of Bluepoint's irresistible shellfish selections, including mouthwatering Whole Maine Lobster (MKT) and Alaskan King Crab Legs (MKT); both are steamed and served with drawn butter.

Handcrafted specialty cocktails are a favorite at Bluepoint. Try a refreshing Mojito (rum, fresh mint, lime, soda) or one of Bluepoint's skillfully created martinis, which range from the traditional to the avante garde.  James Bond types might order the Swank (vodka or gin, straight up, "shaken, not stirred," with olives) or a Dirty Martini (vodka, olive juice, blue cheese olives). The ladies might opt for something sweeter, like the Summer Breeze (citrus vodka, peach schnapps, pineapple and cranberry juices, lime) or the Tease (vodka, apple liqueur, sour, apple wheel).

For beer connoisseurs, Bluepoint features an exceptional selection of 20 imported and domestic drafts, in addition to a few bottled beers. The wine list also showcases over 40 international selections, with nearly half available by the glass.

The 5000 square foot space seats 60 in the bar, 100 in the dining room and also has an outdoor patio that seats an additional 125. The handsome dining room is warm and inviting with its wood-paneled walls, large booths, oversized lampshades, and contemporary photography.

Bluepoint Fish Club is open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Take-out and private parties are also available. The restaurant is handicapped accessible. All major credit cards are accepted.  Reservations are preferred.
