TOWNHOUSE RESTAURANT & WINE BAR
TO OPEN IN CHICAGO'S LOOP AREA
CHICAGO (July 21, 2006) - Roger Greenfield and Ted Kasemir of Restaurants- America reveal their newest addition to the Chicago dining scene, Townhouse Restaurant & Wine Bar, opening at 111 South Wacker Drive on Monday, July 31st, 2006. This Contemporary American kitchen features a large selection of small plates, unique sandwiches, salads and entrées to suit any taste. Townhouse also offers a Café to Go where sandwiches, salads and a variety of muffins and pastries are offered for those without time to dine.
Overseeing the kitchen is Chef Justin L. Frankenberg, who has spent many years with several renowned and successful restaurants including; Charlie Trotters (Chicago) and Bistro Bis (Washington D.C.) where he fashioned classic French entrées with flair and created several unique menu designs based on the season. Chef Justin played a major role at Red Sage Restaurant (Washington D.C.) overseeing The Grille, The Border Café as well as private dining and catered events. Chef Justin brings creativity and classic experience to Townhouse where his talents will be utilized in bringing Contemporary American cuisine to life, providing pleasure for every taste at Townhouse Restaurant & Wine Bar.
On the menu, begin with the small plates which include; Ahi Tacos ($11), Jalapeno Bacon Wrapped Shrimp in a sweet chili sauce and bell pepper salad ($12) and Black Pepper Smoked Salmon with potato galette, capers, onions, watercress, crème fraiche ($12), to name a few.
A large selection of salads is available to choose from including; Shaved Apple Salad with seasonal greens, apples, sunflower seed brittle, raisins, blue cheese and cider vinaigrette ($9) and Warm Mushroom Bread Salad with shitake and button mushrooms, arugula, tomato focaccia, goat cheese and shallot vinaigrette ($9).
Sandwiches are unique and tasty and are served with Seasoned French Fries, including; Grilled Chicken Sandwich served on a rustic roll with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and smoked onion mayonnaise ($11), Kobe Burger with lettuce, tomatoes and onions ($14), Steak Roll marinated flat iron, flour tortilla, cilantro, onions, peppers and chipotle aioli ($14), Blackened Ahi Tuna with mustard mayonnaise and olive focaccia ($14) and Grilled Turkey Burger with lettuce, tomatoes and onions served on a Kaiser roll ($11).
The entrées include several appetizing fish selections; Speck Wrapped Tilapia with bean cassoulet and marinated tomatoes ($16) and Blackened Ahi Tuna with arugula, mushrooms, ginger soy butter sauce and olive oil mashed potatoes ($19). The kitchen entrée menu also offers Mustard-Rubbed Steak with cheese polenta, sherry demi-glace and arugula puree ($20), Crispy Short Ribs with Dijon mustard, herbs, bread crumbs, polenta, harissa, asparagus, orange and tomato salad ($17) and Pan-Roasted Chicken Breast with garlic broccolini, asiago polenta, sage demi-glace, pancetta, peppers and onions ($15). Two entertaining pasta selections, an offering of diverse sides and mouth-watering desserts complete this creative and unique menu.
This 5000 square foot Contemporary American restaurant, with its Mosaic tiling, alluring wine wall and floor to ceiling windows, provides an elegant and casual feel that is ideal for lunch, dinner and anytime drinks. Townhouse is conveniently located near the Civic Opera House, Sears Tower and Metra trains and seats 120 in the restaurant and bar and 70 on the patio when the weather is warm.
Townhouse is located at 111 South Wacker Drive and is open during the week for lunch and dinner - Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Reservations are recommended but not required.
