RED STAR TAVERN TO OPEN
AT THE SHOPPES AT EASTCHASE
MONTGOMERY (June 7, 2005) - Red Star Tavern, a contemporary version of the classic American tavern, is scheduled to open June 13, 2005 at The Shoppes at EastChase in Montgomery. Red Star Tavern features prime steaks and chops, fresh seafood and more in a clubby atmosphere, along with specialty martinis, beers and a well-rounded wine list with a unique selection available by the glass.
While Red Star's contemporary American menu certainly has plenty of choices, "Steaks, Chops & Seafood" is the motto at this establishment. Red Star Tavern proudly serves Allen Brothers steaks of Chicago, the highest quality source for USDA prime beef. Steaks and chops are served with your choice of two sides unless otherwise noted. Choose from a hearty Cowboy Rib Eye ($28.95), New York Strip ($25.95), Petite Filet Mignon ($20.95) or Center Cut Filet ($28.95), among other choices. For something different, try one of Red Star's decadent steak toppings, like Blue Cheese or Horseradish Parmesan or add a little "surf" to your "turf" with Crab Stuffed Shrimp ($2.95 each). To make your decision even more difficult, three cuts of Prime Rib, Rotisserie Chicken Ribs and Rotisserie Pork Roast are also available.
"Seafood" selections include indulgent Hazelnut-Crusted Trout, with spinach, tomato, corn, shrimp and mashed potatoes ($16.95) and Sesame-Crusted Tuna with spinach, mushrooms and ginger soy butter sauce ($19.95). "Red Star Specialties" feature choices such as earthy Wild Mushroom Penne with oven-dried tomatoes, peas and parmesan broth ($10.95) and Chicken Giardiniera, Sicilian style rigatoni tossed with marinated vegetables and chicken breast ($11.95). An impressive assortment of sandwiches, entrée salads, "small plates" and kid-friendly selections are also available at both lunch and dinner.
An extensive drink list is headlined by a selection of specialty martinis like "The O," a fruity, tropical concoction and the "Ruby," a cool, tangy refreshment. Of course, there's the "Swank," for those who prefer their martinis "shaken, not stirred" and topped with an olive. Or, choose from a unique selection of bottled beer, drafts, microbrews and wines by the bottle or glass.
The 6500 square foot restaurant seats 80 at the bar and 180 in the dining room. An amazing outdoor café and bar seats 100. Clubby surroundings have an intimate feel, with design elements that include a glass-enclosed exhibition kitchen, curved leather booths, illuminated wine case, wood-paneled walls, custom lighting, eclectic artwork and plasma televisions.
Red Star Tavern is open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Take-out is available. The restaurant is handicapped accessible. Reservations accepted. All major credit cards accepted. For more information, call 334.395.6665.
