The Junior League of Mobile
75th Anniversary Project at the Gulf Coast Exploreum
The Junior League of Mobile is comprised of more than 1700 members who strive continuously to improve the community by voluntarism, education and charity. In 2006, the Junior League of Mobile will celebrate its 75th anniversary of service to the community by a group of dedicated and generous volunteers. To commemorate this milestone, the Junior League of Mobile is funding a $272,000 state-of-the-art preschool science center at the Gulf Coast Exploreum, set to open in September, 2005. The learning center, known as the "Wharf of Wonder" will be an interactive display allowing children to have fun as they learn about the wonders of our bay and local ecosystem. "There is no better way to honor our community than to make a significant contribution to the education and future of our children, while providing a lasting tribute to the mission of the Junior League of Mobile," states JLM President, Megan Conwell.
